Notice of Refunds and Compensation Due to PUBG x NewJeans Customize Restrictions

Hello players. 

We would like to inform you about the upcoming in-game measures regarding the wardrobe item changes when equipping NewJeans appearance and how we plan to address the related issues.

Following the identification of some inappropriate posts, the artists' agency has requested measures to protect their artists. In agreement with the agency's concerns, PUBG:BATTLEGROUNDS team will take appropriate measures accordingly.

We consider and respect the diverse customization options enjoyed by our players as a unique aspect of PUBG's culture.

The purpose of this collaboration was to bring new and exciting experiences to our players through the artist collaboration. However, we regret to inform you that certain wardrobe items will be restricted when equipped together with NewJeans appearance. As a collaborative partner with the agency, the PUBG:BATTLEGROUNDS team has taken measures it can ethically take. . However, as a game company providing services to our users, we have strived to minimize any inconvenience to our players during this process.

We understand how inconvenient it can be for players when the specifications of already purchased and owned items are changed. We apologize for issuing another notice during what should have been an enjoyable collaboration. Please check the detailed information below regarding the wardrobe items that will be restricted when the NewJeans appearances are equipped. Additionally, we are providing details regarding refund and compensation due to changes in the specifications of the currently sold items.



Notice regarding In-Game Changes

  • For the PC platform, the following wardrobe skins will be restricted when combined with the character face of NewJeans members from the update on July 10, 2024.
  • This applies to all five NewJeans members (Minji, Danielle, Hanni, Haerin, and Hyein).
    • We will provide a separate schedule for the console platform.

Refund/Compensation Due to NewJeans Appearance Wardrobe Restrictions (PC Platform Only)

  • We will provide detailed information on the specific schedule and application process for the refund/compensation system due to the wardrobe restrictions on NewJeans characters.
  • PC platform players can apply for their preferred option through the Refund/Compensation system, which will be updated on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at 13:30 UTC.
    • We will provide separate instructions for refund and compensation for the console platform.
  • Information on inventory reset and compensation payment details due to refund will be provided in a separate announcement.
  • Players who purchased items during the previous incorrect display of the Guaranteed Set Imprint system for the PUBG x NewJeans Prime Parcel item issue will also be eligible for compensation. Please refer to the details below.

Eligible Players for Refund/Compensation System

  • Players who purchased the following PUBG x NewJeans Loot Cache items between the update on Wednesday, June 12 and 2024. 6. 26 15:00 UTC  are eligible for the Refund/Compensation system due to the NewJeans appearance wardrobe restrictions.
    • PUBG x NewJeans Loot Cache Step 1 Set
    • PUBG x NewJeans Loot Cache Step 2 Set
    • PUBG x NewJeans Loot Cache Step 3 Set
    • PUBG x NewJeans Loot Cache Step 4 Set
    • PUBG x NewJeans Loot Cache Pack (x1)
    • PUBG x NewJeans Loot Cache Pack (x11)
    • PUBG x NewJeans Loot Cache Pack (x27)
    • PUBG x NewJeans Loot Cache Pack (x55)


  • Players affected by the previous incorrect display of the Guaranteed Set Imprint system for the PUBG x NewJeans Prime Parcel item issue will also be eligible for the Refund/Compensation system due to the NewJeans character wardrobe restrictions. Although the G-COIN compensation was calculated separately, it will be provided in a single payment for the convenience of the players.
  • Players who purchase items after the patch time 2024. 6. 26 15:00 UTC  will not be eligible for the refund and compensation system.


Notes on Refund and Compensation

  • Please review the options below and select your preferred option using the Refund/Compensation system available in the lobby from Wednesday, July 3, 2024, 02:00 UTC, until Friday, August 2, 2024, 02:00 UTC.
  • After the system update, application button will appear in the bottom left corner of the lobby for all eligible players. Until the application is completed, G-COIN charging and item purchases in the Store includes Hideout and Workshop will be unavailable.
  • If the eligible recipients do not select an option within the designated period, they will automatically be enrolled in the G-COIN compensation option. Therefore, please ensure to choose your preferred option within the application period.
  • Once an option is selected, it cannot be changed. Support cannot be provided for incorrect applications, so please choose carefully. 
  • You can apply for either the refund or compensation option only once, and no further applications can be submitted after the Refund/Compensation process is completed.
  • If the number of requests increases significantly after the system update, processing time may be extended.
  • Detailed information on each Refund and Compensation plan will be provided in a separate announcement.
  • If you purchased G-COIN codes from third party platforms such as Heybox, Sunwang, Xsolla,  refund will only be processed in G-COIN. Cash refund will follow the sales policies of the third-party platform, so please contact the customer support of the relevant third-party platform for assistance with cash refund requests.


Compensation and Refund Options

  • Eligible players for the Refund/Compensation system can apply for either G-COIN compensation or a refund.


  • G-COIN Compensation Option
    • Eligible players: Those who purchased PUBG X NewJeans Loot Cache items between the end of maintenance on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, and June 26, 2024 15:00 UTC. 
      • Compensation: 50% of the G-COIN spent on PUBG X NewJeansLoot Cache items during the eligible period will be compensated without retrieving the items. 
      • (Example)
        • If you purchased a PUBG x NewJeans Loot Cache Pack (X55) for 12,500 G-COIN on June 17, 2024, at 05:00 UTC and another PUBG x NewJeans Loot Cache Pack  (X55) for 12,500 G-COIN on June 20, 2024, you will receive a total of 12,500 G-COIN as compensation.
    • The compensated G-COIN will be bonus G-COIN that cannot be refunded to the platform currency and has the same validity period as G-COIN available for purchase in the store.


  • For those affected by the previous incorrect display of the Guaranteed Set Imprint system for the PUBG x NewJeans Prime Parcel item issue
    • If you apply for the G-COIN compensation plan, both the compensation for the previous incorrect display of the Guaranteed Set Imprint system for the PUBG x NewJeans Prime Parcel item issue and the in-game measures related to NewJeans Appearance Wardrobe change will be calculated separately. The total amount will then be issued as combined G-COIN compensation.
      • 1) Players who spent G-COIN on PUBG x NewJeans Step Up Sets and PUBG x NewJeans Loot Cache Packs purchases between the end of maintenance on June 12, 2024, till 13:30:59 UTC will receive 100% of the total amount of G-COIN spent as 5-year validity bonus G-COIN.
      • 2) Players who spent G-COIN on PUBG x NewJeans Step Up Sets and PUBG x NewJeans Loot Cache Packs purchases between the end of maintenance on June 12, 2024, and Wednesday, June 26, 15:00 UTC  will receive 50% of the total amount of G-COIN spent as 5-year validity bonus G-COIN.
      • (Example)
        • If you purchased a PUBG x NewJeans Loot Cache Pack (X55) for 12,500 G-COIN on June 13, 2024, at 05:00 UTC and then purchased another PUBG x NewJeans Loot Cache Pack  X27) for 6,250 G-COIN on June 20, 2024, you will receive a total of 12,500 G-COIN + 9,375 G-COIN {(12,500+6,250)/2} = 21,875 G-COIN as compensation.
        •   The compensated G-COIN will be bonus G-COIN that cannot be refunded to the platform currency and has the same validity period as G-COIN available for purchase in the store.


  • Refund Plan
    • If you wish to receive a refund, all items purchased with G-COIN, including PUBG x NewJeans Loot Cache items, from the end of maintenance on June 12, 2024, to the time you request the refund will be refunded in G-COIN.
    • The refund process will follow the same procedure outlined in the previous incorrect display of the Guaranteed Set Imprint system for the PUBG x NewJeans Prime Parcel item issue compensation and refund announcement.

      •  All items acquired immediately after the end of maintenance on June 12, 2024, will be retrieved, and the inventory will be reset to the state of the first access after the update on June 12, 2024.
        •   (Example)
          • If you purchased the Ancient Egypt Mega Bundle for 4,360 G-COIN on June 15 and then purchased a PUBG x NewJeans Loot Cache Pack  (X27) for 6,250 G-COIN on June 21, all items resulting from the PUBG x NewJeans Loot Cache Pack  (X27) and the Ancient Egypt Mega Bundle items will be retrieved, and instead, 10,610 G-COIN will be refunded.
             
    • All inventory actions executed on the account, including item purchases, event and pass rewards, and growth weapon skins, will be reset.
    • The progress of the PUBG x NewJeans Step Up Package you purchased will be reset, allowing you to repurchase it.
    • The refunded G-COIN will be reissued with the same specifications as the used G-COIN.



  • Reason for Inventory Reset Approach
    • Due to technical issues, it is not possible to retrieve only the PUBG x NewJeans Loot Cache items. Therefore, we have decided to revert the inventory state to its original status immediately after the maintenance on Wednesday, June 12.
    • If tokens obtained through the purchase of PUBG x NewJeans Loot Cache items during the eligibility period were combined with tokens obtained after the period to create items, it is technically difficult to retrieve only the PUBG x NewJeans Loot Cache items purchased within the eligibility period.
    • If G-COIN was used to purchase both PUBG x NewJeans Loot Cache items and contraband crates, it is not possible to refund the used G-COIN unless all the G-COIN is reimbursed to the original payment method.
    • We ask for your understanding to facilitate a smooth refund process.



    • Players who complete the item G-COIN refund will receive 30 contraband coupons as compensation.
    • Platform currency refund can be requested at any time during our refund application period from July 3, 02:00 UTC to August 2, 02:00 UTC.
    • For platform currency refund of the G-COIN you purchased, please contact PUBG Customer Support (https://support.pubg.com/). The reimbursement will be credited to each platform's account.


We apologize once again for the confusion caused and we will continue to think and act from the perspective of our players to make BATTLEGROUNDS a better game.
